Our Leadership

The New Testament establishes two offices of church leadership – Elders, who are also called “pastors” and “overseers,” and Deacons.

Elders

The qualifications for elders are found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, and require godly character and a willingness and ability to fulfill the role of an elder in being devoted to prayer and the ministry of the Word (Acts 6:4; 1 Timothy 5:17) and acting as shepherds and overseers for the church (Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:2).

Deacons

The qualifications for Deacons are found in 1 Timothy 3 and require godly character and a willingness and ability to serve and meet the practical needs of the church (Acts 6:1-6; 1 Timothy 3:8-13).
